Vintage Judith Leiber Gold Koi Fish Leather Belt
Judith Leiber was a notable accessories designer from Hungary. With her designs being internationally acclaimed, Leiber’s work can be found in high-end retailers and boutiques. Often times encrusted with Swarovski crystal, Leiber’s work tends to be sculptural and impossible giving it a rich novelty charm.
This belt features six gold koi fish at the front with green stones placed at the eyes. The offset arrangement of the fish makes them seem to be swimming across the front of the belt. The band of the belt itself is done in a white leather. The combination of the gold on white leather gives this belt a vintage appeal, yet can certainly be styled as an updated relic if it is made the statement of the outfit.
Length: This belt is adjustable from 23 - 33 inches
Width: 2.5 inches
Masterfully, the belt is cut asymmetrically at the front where two hook closures are placed that are hidden in plain sight amongst the fish motif. At the back interior the belt is labeled with the brand logo. In good condition there is some discoloration to the leather that can likely be cleaned or polished. High-quality vintage pieces like this are yours to live in and love while increasing in value every year. It’s never too soon to start collecting them, as an investment in your wardrobe—and in yourself.
