Vintage Chanel Black White Silk Gingham Dress
Since the 1930s gingham has been seen as a casual yet versatile pattern. Like many things, Chanel has incorporated this pattern throughout the years as a testament to the house’s history of comfort and ease, and elevated it into a chic wardrobe staple for many occasions. This circa 2011 Chanel dress is done in a black and white gingham check organza.
Princess lines mold the bust until the empire waist where a bias-cut band adds some interest to the dress pattern. From there, a perfectly matched A-line skirt gently flares to knee level. Just below the waistband, the interlocking CC plaque is stitched onto the dress. A timeless, nondescript design, this dress is an easy day-to-night look that can be worn for many seasons to come worn as is or styled up with a sleek blazer.
