Stella McCartney F/W 2003 Runway Strapless Corset Dress
Stella McCartney’s designs are noted for their simple elegance that at times bring in quirky elements to add a degree of fun. As a designer, McCartney plays with proportion and line in order to achieve some stunning effects even through simple garments. Her 2003 Fall collection featured an array of satin jackets and silk cocktail dresses, in line with her reputation for delivering refined, youthful looks.
As seen as look #18 on that season’s runway, this strapless corset dress is a beautiful work of art. Done in teal silk and satin, the dress has some stretch to it and features an impeccably constructed boned corset bodice with a deep V neckline. The corset features sections of teal satin bordered by black silk that are cleverly placed to accentuate the natural lines of the body.
Metallic mesh at the sides of the corset and grey mesh at the hips and front of the bodice add a nice textural contrast while giving the eye something new to appreciate from each angle. The cinched waist is further defined by the accompanying teal satin belt that secures with eye and hook closures at the back of the bodice.

The straight silk skirt falls to a mini length just above the knee, creating an elegant silhouette. A wide band of teal satin at the hem draws the dress together visually, while a small slit at the back of the skirt allows for greater ease of movement. A glamorous addition to the discerning fashion lover’s wardrobe, this sensual dress is the perfect choice for a wedding, evening soiree, or special occasion and can easily be styled with statement heels and accessories.
This Stella McCartney dress is lined with a black silk stretch underskirt and closes with a concealed back zip and snap closures.
