Prada Runway Lipstick Print Skirt Rare & Collectable Spring 2000
The Prada S/S 2000 collection that can be read as a take of early 20th century feminism, the collection drew inspiration from classics like Chanel and Schiaparelli. Blending the semi-professional silhouettes and earthy tones of smart attire, Prada also introduced shocking sheer elements and quite literal tongue-in-cheek prints that send a message of power-dressing and subtle sexuality.
One of the most coveted designs from the line, this skirt is made from an off-white silk with rows of black and gray lipsticks printed throughout. Stitched pleats lay perfectly around a faced waist that give this skirt a beautiful dimension a retro sweep at the knee length hem.
This skirt was aptly featured in the 2012 Met exhibition Schiaparelli & Prada Impossible Conversations and can be seen in the images above on that season’s runway.
