Prada "Naked Lady " Print Sheer Silk Skirt Sex and The City, 2001
While many designers take art and creativity to the extreme, for decades, Prada has succeeded in its conception of creative clothes that are both refined and marketable. This approach has led Prada to become a major trendsetter both on and off the screen.
Inspired by the artistic stylings of C.R. Mackintosh, Prada creating the “Naked Lady” print that transformed into a rare collectable item following being worn by Carrie Bradshaw on the hit show, Sex and the City in 2001.
This “Naked Lady” print skirt is done in light, sheer silk and showcases the stylized silhouettes of nude women on a black and white, polka-dotted ground. A Prada signature can be found throughout the print. The motif is arranged to produce a simple scrolling design when seen from afar without the immediate recognition of the nude female forms that make up the design.
The skirt fits gently around the hips and falls straight to a knee length hemline. Perfect for the pop-culture aficionado or anyone looking for an interesting print, the skirt can be easily styled for a breezy daytime look, dressed up for the office, or paired with the “Naked Lady” blouse (found in a previous listing) to recreate the Sex and the City ensemble.
