Prada Fairy James Jean Emerald Green Print Silk Skirt, 2008
Continuing the fanciful story of the Prada 2008 collection, a whimsical watercolor touch exemplifies the mood of their fairy collection. With a motif designed by Taiwanese artist, James Jean, this Prada skirt carries with it a demure, magical aura. The skirt, made from an emerald green silk twill, features Jean’s depiction of fairies serenely amongst flowers with a cityscape in the distance.
On the back, a large depiction of a fairy seated in a cloister adds additional dimension to the swirls and motion that create the story across the skirt. Soft tones of celadon, seafoam green, yellow, and violet create an unusual yet delicate color story. The skirt sits low on the waist and falls to about knee level with a fairly straight silhouette. It is fitted with simple darts and is bound with black bias on the waist edge.
