Prada Blue Orange Red Check Silk Fairy Pants Runway, 2008

Just like a work of fiction, fashion is all about play and imagination. Bold print combinations, unconventional lines, the 2008 Prada collection added a childlike wonder into high-end styles. Checks and plaids not only provide an easy way to playfully mix colors, bold checks also give off a feeling of casual bliss. Done in a silk fabric, these Prada pants done a vibrant red-orange and primary blue check.

Along the blue sections, a black micro-plaid pattern overlaps giving the illusion that some of the blue squares are darker. From a somewhat wide waistband, the seams and darts of the pants intentionally shift and skew the alignment of the pattern which plays off of the unexpected irregularities of the print itself.

These mind-boggling details and bright colors make these pants not take themselves too seriously and create unexpected twists and turns throughout. They have a rather tailored fit throughout the hips until the knees and flair out ever so slightly as they approach the hem. These pants can be seen as look #28 on that season’s runway.
