Pauline Trigère Gold Jewel Buttons Evening Jacket
Pauline Trigère was a prominent figure in putting American designers on the map. Like many of the acclaimed French couturiers, Trigère was an expert at tailoring and had an eye for interesting volumes. However true-to-form of the American aesthetic, Trigère designs are known for their relative simplicity and elegance through ease. From the late 1980s, this Trigère evening coat is made from a gleaming gold cloqué.
The crinkles in the fabric gives it a beautiful sculptural hammered texture. With classic 80s broad shoulders, the jacket has tapered sleeves and an A-line, swing-backed silhouette that ends at mid-thigh level. The slight fit in the shoulders and bust a nicely, the flare of the hem balances the prominent shoulders.
