Basha Gold
Missoni Blue Printed Plunge Neck Sleeveless Silk Crystal Gown, 2006
Missoni is defined by an unparalleled eye for color combinations and easy to wear designs. Usually incorporating open knitting, Missoni has evolved over the years since the brand’s start in the early 50s to bring this artistic detailing to a wider range of designs. A departure from what is traditional Missoni, this ethereal chiffon gown is painted with monochromatic hues of topaz, marine blue, and aqua wistfully moving about the drapes and folds of the silk chiffon.
A sharp V-neckline on a ruched bodice plunges down to an empire waist decorated by a crystal embellished belt that adds a regal flair. The full-length skirt waterfalls to the hem where it is finished with a delicate fluted hem that mimics waves. On the back, a more understated line of the belt ends at a lower neckline giving this dress a balance of classy elegance and flirtatious sexiness. A version of this Missoni dress can be seen in the images to the left on the 2006 runway.
