Marni Midnight Blue Wool Cashmere Angora Coat

$0

Founded in 1994 by Consuelo Castiglioni, due to her ties to a family fur business, the Marni aesthetic has a penchant for incorporating furs into the collections often in zany hues color blocked to create quirky compilations. Despite a certain femininity acquired through the usage of color and texture, Marni tends to follow suit with many other Italian luxury labels by employing a tailored, men’s silhouette.

Circa the early 2000s, this Marni overcoat is done in a felted midnight blue fabric comprised of cashmere, angora, and wool. The fiber composite ensures warmth as well as a luxuriously plush hand. The silhouette is emphasized by a wide peak lapel that breaks just above bust level. Ribbed seam lines add addition texture to the front panels as well as the back creating some necessary dimension in the field of deep blue. The fabric and silhouette allow for a timeless wardrobe addition that is sure to last for many wears.
