Ferragamo Black Creme Leather Bucket Bag, 1990s
Some credit Salvatore Ferragamo as the pioneer who put Italian accessories on the map. While Ferragamo himself solely focused on shoemaking, it would not be until his wife and daughter took over the brand that it would begin producing other fashion items. Ferragamo style captures a traditional essence of Italy while using subtle hints and details to create a more modern design.
Presumably from the 1990s, this Ferragamo bucket bag is color blocked with a panel of a demi-gloss black leather and a lower section of crème leather. Paired with the classic black-and-crème pairing, the bag’s unconventional cylindrical shape adds just enough interest to set it apart.
At the lip, gold hardware in the shape of the Ferragamo horseshoe attaches the back to the thin black leather strap. With gorgeous, precise stitching throughout, this simple yet quirkily-shaped bag lends itself to refined styling bringing a level of 90s posh charm to a tailored or smart outfit.
Strap drop: 11 inches
Height: 7.5 inches
Depth: 5 inches
The lid of the bag is done in the crème leather and is slightly sunken into the bag and fastens with a magnetic snap closure. Just above the lid, the interior is faced in a band of the crème leather also. The interior is finished with a black, logoed, twill lining. With evidence of light wear throughout, this bag is in very good condition. High-quality vintage pieces like this are yours to live in and love while increasing in value every year. It’s never too soon to start collecting them, as an investment in your wardrobe—and in yourself.
