Collette Dinnigan Runway Liquid Jersey Black Dress, A / W 2008
Australian born designer, Collette Dinnigan, is acclaimed in the world of fashion as being the first Australian-born designer to showcase a full ready-to-wear collection at Paris Fashion Week in 1995 and was later invited to continually show at Paris Fashion Week by the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture. Since then, Dinnigan has showcased a variety of collections throughout the years in the genres from everything between swim and luxurious evening wear.
From her Autumn/Winter 2008 collection, this black, liquid jersey asymmetrical dress has a slight sheen. This fabrication allows it to be exceptionally smooth to the touch. Detail in the deep black fabric is created through the loose diagonal ruching that sweeps across the boy on the front and back.
On the left shoulder, a layered wool blend floral detail is affixed that provides textural contrast and balance. Coming from the detail is a three-quarter sleeve. At perfect cocktail length, this Dinnigan dress is comfortably crafted and made in vein with the early 2000s aesthetic.
