Chanel New Multicolored Print Cut Out Back Maxi Dress Cruise 2016
Chanel is globally recognized in the world of fashion as a name and has creatively been inspired by various cultures and locations. For the Cruise 2016 collection, in the wake of the K-Pop and other Asian pop-cultural trends, Karl Lagerfeld crafted a Korean-inspired line that was filled with vibrant colors and modern geometric lines, softened by traditional Chanel and Korean silhouettes.
From this line, this halter neck maxi dress is done in a silk twill fabric. The fabric features multicolored blocks in exciting tones of mulberry, pink, cerulean, violet, seafoam green, orange, sky blue, magenta, and buff. The dress has been pieced together in a way that makes the print even more dynamic.
On the front, the dress is constructed with a unique starburst seaming that radiates from a diamond-shaped button that is placed just below bust level. The piecing continues out to create the dress straps and down to form the gored skirt allowing for gentle undulations at the hem.
On the back, a simple square cut out adds a break in the mesmerizing pattern at the high back. This dress is lively and has truly unique design features that make this dress even more interesting. This dress can be seen on that season’s runway as look #10.
