Chanel Collectors Black Silk Bow Hat Runway 1992
Chanel is known for the iconic boxy tweed suits and the notorious double-C logo. However, before Chanel was the household name of high-fashion, Coco Chanel got her start as a milliner. Since Chanel’s day, the hat has gone in and out of style but nonetheless can always be a show stopping accessory.
In their SS1992 show, creative director Karl Lagerfeld paid homage to Chanel’s past and reintroduced the hat as a fashion staple. As one of the most coveted designs, this hat is made from a pitch-black, glossy braid.
With a round brim and a perfectly domed crown, the caged assembly of this hat says “fashion”. Finished with a thick satin ribbon bow it can be paired with a little black dress, a traditional suit, or anything that needs a touch of ultra-modern flavor.
This Chanel hat is highly collectable and can be seen in the featured images as part of that season’s campaign and on the 1992 runway.
