Alessandro Dell'Acqua Embroidered Beaded Overlay Sheer Skirt, 1990s

$600

Naples-born designer Alessandro Dell’Acqua made his mark of the fashion scene in 1996 in Milan. Dell’Acqua’s design style can be described as tailored yet charmingly eccentric with a casual element. One of his earliest collections, Dell’Acqua’s FW 1998 collection, explores color and opacity using high-gloss satins and black sheer tulles arranged in a variety of volumes for added effect.

Along those lines, this overlay skirt is made from a fine black tulle mesh and embroidered throughout with gunmetal beads and sequins arranged in a floral motif. The skirt sits low on the waist and falls just below the knee with the beading and sequins creating soft undulations in the otherwise straight silhouette. This skirt would be an excellent laying piece that can elevate any plain pencil skirt into a classy and elegant new look.
