1970s Yves Saint Laurent Chinese Quilted Red Satin Jacket YSL

Alongside the launch of his legendary fragrance Opium YSL showcased his China collection during the Fall/Winter runways in 1977.

Done in a vibrant red quilted satin, the color heavily associated with good fortune in Chinese culture, this jacket is trimmed in burgundy that creates a thick piping appearance. With wide sleeves, and a slightly oversized fit, the jacket cocoons the body in its deep, mesmerizing red fabric. The burgundy trim travels closely around the neck down to the mid-hip hem. Fully lined in a burgundy silky satin, this vintage YSL jacket is in very good condition.
