1970s Elsa Peretti for Tiffany & Co. Sterling Silver Mesh Pouch Necklace

A rare circa 1970s Elsa Peretti for Tiffany & Co. miniature mesh purse necklace, crafted in flexible sterling silver mesh and suspended from a long black cord with a matching tassel.

The small pouch moves fluidly like fabric, reflecting Peretti’s distinctive ability to give precious metal a soft, tactile quality. Its elongated cord allows the necklace to be worn long, while the tassel adds movement and dramatic contrast.

This miniature necklace version is considerably less common than Peretti’s larger mesh evening bags and is a highly collectible example of her early work for Tiffany & Co.
