1960s Tiziani Roma By Karl Lagerfeld Tailored Wool/Cashmere Camel Jacket Coat
Karl Lagerfeld needs no introduction in the world of fashion or anywhere else. His early work with Tiziani Roma, however, is less recognized. Working as a designer for this Italian label provided early proof of Lagerfeld’s mastery with design and construction. His sophisticated camel-colored jacket from the 1960s gracefully predicts the bolder silhouettes of the 1980s.
Made from a soft wool/cashmere double-cloth, all detailing is seemingly effortless as the double-weave allows fabric edges to be carefully pried apart by hand, turned in on themselves and stitched closed. The handset pleated sleeves are stunning, but the star feature of this jacket has to be the sinewy curves of the front opening and neckline. Falling femininely around the shape of the body, this jacket can be classically matched with black, or reconsidered with luscious pinks and winter whites. Welt pockets sit at the waistline.

This vintage 1960s hip-length jacket by Karl Lagerfeld is in excellent condition. The use of a wool/cashmere blended double-cloth allows for a light and unlined interior. Sleeves are lined with coordinating satin to provide easy entry in and out. Style lines at center back, sides, and undersleeves add technical interest and provide refinement to the overall fit.
The jacket does not have a front closure element, but lies in a controlled opening. Two functional welt pockets sit at the waistline, also lined in coordinating satin. Professionally cleaned and pressed. High-quality vintage pieces like this are yours to live in and love while increasing in value every year. It’s never too soon to start collecting them, as an investment in your wardrobe—and in yourself.
