1978 Yves Saint Laurent Documented Runway Black Velvet & Polka Dot Ensemble

Yves Saint Laurent two-piece ensemble from the Autumn/Winter 1978–1979 collection, documented on the  runway.
The sheer black polka-dot blouse features a gathered neckline that can be worn on or off the shoulders, voluminous sleeves, and gathered cuffs.
The coordinating black velvet skirt features a long, fitted wrap-style silhouette with a hook closure at the waistband. An asymmetrical sheer polka-dot ruffle cascades down the side and along the hem. The skirt is unlined.
The skirt was also seen worn by Mary-Kate Olsen at the Giambattista Valli Spring/Summer 2010 show in Paris in October 2009.
