1960s Pauline Trigere Ivory & Black Tailored Vest Skirt Suit

$1,600

Pauline Trigère was a prominent figure in putting American designers on the map. Like many of the acclaimed French couturiers, she was an expert at tailoring and had an eye for interesting volumes. However true-to-form of the American aesthetic, Trigère designs are known for their relative simplicity and elegance through ease. From the 1960s, this monochromatic skirt suit embodies the iconic Mod style of that era.

Designed by Trigère for Bergdorf Goodman, this elegant skirt suit exudes an effortless, timeless chic. Done in textured ivory wool that has the softness of cotton, the suit is beautifully tailored throughout. The sleeveless vest features a deep V neckline and three black button closures at the center front placket that add a wonderful contrast to the ivory fabric. It is finished with princess seams and a jaunty upside down V-shaped cut out at the front hem that accentuates the waist while ingeniously revealing a small section of fabric at the top of the skirt.
