Fascinated by the silhouettes of the Parisian haute couturiers, the haute couturier herself paired their ideas of tailoring with her country’s beautiful shapes, silks and prints to create distinctly luxurious clothes. This sensational vintage dress is by the legendary 91-year-old designer.

It is stunning in a mouthwatering print of multicolored jewel-tone stripes, which collide like digitized paint strokes on silk chiffon. The stripes are cut horizontally on the bodice and vertically on the sleeves and skirt for a striking effect that is made even more gorgeous by threads of metallic gold that are woven throughout. Kimono sleeves with a peekaboo satin latticework detail at the dropped shoulders lend the ankle-length column a regal finish. Easy to wear, this can work for both day and night.

The column style has a bateau neckline, a keyhole opening with a hook-and-eye closure at the back and an elastic waistband that enables it to suit a small to medium frame.

The body of the gown is lined in black silk. The kimono sleeves, which are topped by a peekaboo satin latticework detail, are not lined. This dress has been professionally dry-cleaned and pressed.
